The UN Commission on the Status of Women is an annual meeting of United Nations member states for the sole purpose of working on gender equality and women’s rights (6-17 March).

Abigail says: "I am passionate about promoting gender equality and empowering women globally, and I believe that serving on the UN Commission on the Status of Women provides a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful change on a larger scale. I bring a diverse skill set to the group, including strong communication and organisational skills.

I have developed interpersonal awareness as well as goal setting through my experience at ARC South London. My commitment to promoting women's rights aligns with the goals of Ladies in Waiting and the UN Commission on the Status of Women, and I am eager to leverage my background in specific areas to contribute effectively to the team's objectives

As a UN delegate, I am most looking forward to collaborating with representatives from diverse backgrounds to address global challenges related to gender equality. I hope our collective efforts will lead to concrete policy advancements, fostering inclusivity and empowering women worldwide. Ultimately, I aim for our work to contribute to a more equitable and just global society, but most importantly I want to show every young girl in my community that anything is possible once you believe.
