At this event, attendees will participate in short seminars and a poster marketplace showcasing previous research and perspectives from researchers, community organisations and practitioners. There will also be an opportunity to network with delegates throughout the event.

Knowledge Exchange event 2023

Throughout the event we will be considering the following questions:

  • What are the prevailing taboos in health and social care and how do societal norms and cultural beliefs contribute to these?
  • What are the barriers that people face while accessing health and social care and how can these be addressed?
  • How can the researchers and community organisations address cultural sensitivity, biases and stigma associated with mental and physical health?
  • What methods can be used to encourage open dialogue within communities and healthcare settings?
  • How can informed and open communication between researchers, practitioners and the public be achieved in order to empower people, reduce stigma and improve outcomes?

Outputs from the event will be shared on our ARC website after the event. Your engagement and input will greatly enrich our discussions and support the drive towards positive change in health communication practices.

This event is open to all and is free to attend. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
